On my way back from Boston I headed through Providence to visit my aunt Heidi and her 5 kiddos. So fun/sweet to see them, it had been so long since I saw them last!

Rhode Island is beautiful and if I ever have a huge family and a nag to live the simple life then I’d definitely consider here.

First stop: Heidi and the family in a little town called Cumberland. Drove straight from Boston to Abbot Run Valley Club, where they had spent the day and we ate pizza by the pool. It was such a pretty Club!

We topped off the night with ice cream cones from the Ice Cream Machine. An ice cream shop in the middle of nowhere, yet the entire town seemed to be there when we arrive-huge lines! I <3 small towns. As you can see by the picture, it did not disappoint. (Search them on insta for more drool-worthy pics).

Must get: Ice Cream Machine

Next Day: woke up, walked their dog along the reservoir near their house, came back and made pancakes with all of the kids. Showered, let Jilly (the tiniest of them all) brush my hair and talk about her preschool friend drama that she had to deal with. Cutest thing ever.

Finally headed out towards the heart of Providence, only about a 45 minute drive. Here are a few stops I would recommend:

Shop: Vintage clothes at The Vault, Modern Love for reasonably priced quality chic-y clothes, and Symposium Books for really great marked down books (can’t wait to dig into The Moral Molecule!)

See: All of the murals all around downtown Providence. Stop in to the Dean Hotel for a cup of coffee (aka: almond latte) and to see the general design/interior of the place. Very cool + great inspo.
