Long time no talk!!

I’m currently in Sydney but feel like I’d catch you up on the tail end of my Brisbane trip with some pictures, and then do a separate post later today/tomorrow updating you on Sydney so far (because it’s beyond expectations if I’m being honest).

The last couple of days I wanted to check some things off of my list that I’d made before I flew to Sydney. First  so I made it a point to eat at Morning After, drink coffee at Blackstar where I received some good tips from the Barista about Sydney, and then obviously had to eat once more at Miss Bliss. I trekked over to Fortitude valley which was kind of a miserable experience due to the heat and zero breeze but I’m glad I saw it.

It was definitely higher-end and reminded me of La Jolla or Del Mar a little bit. Even the Uber drive said it was a little bit stuffy for his liking. I walked through the popular James Street and stopped at the James Street Market for some kombucha and to pick up a thank you card for Mel, my host and then continued to wander for a bit. I would’ve kicked myself had I not checked out the adorable Winn Lane a few blocks away but I powered through the disgusting sweat that was dripping from places on my body I didn’t know could sweat. Took some pics, called an Uber, ordered vegan pizza in via Uber Eats and called it a night since I had an early flight the next day!

Brisbane was definitely a very hippie, grungy, chill kind of city. Reminded me of O.B./P.B. a tonnnnn. I had no idea how walkable it is to and from the river and great restaurants. The best streets were Boundary and Vulture in my opinion. If I were to go back I’d stay in the same most likely.

Must do’s:

The GOMA (Gallery of Modern Art), Walk the Parklands to Kangaroo Point, Eat at Lokal +Co/Miss Bliss/Morning After, Go on the Wheel of Brisbane, Walk Goodwill bridge to the Botanical gardens and have a picnic.
