I’m actually in Melbourne at the moment but wow is it hard to get these posts up when you’re 1. Never near good wifi (also, not always a bad thing) and 2. Enjoying the hell out of the trip.
Day 2 in Sydney consisted of walking around the suburbs of Darlinghurst, Surry Hills & Pott’s Point. The weather was pretty wet and rainy but it was a blessing in disguise because I’m not sure I would’ve survived the the lovely combination of heat + humidity under complete sunlight. Our first stop was coffee at Paramount Coffee where we ordered almond milk latte’s and Katie ate some scrambled egg on toast concoction that was bomb. Our plan was to grab some acai bowls/coconut yogurt amazingness from Cali Press so this was a nice little appetizer.
This place was nice and spacious, besides the staff hovering just a little too much for my liking. We finished up and walked pretty aimlessly toward the general direction of Cali Press and stumbled upon a cute shop where I bought some shoes (yay more blisters), and found a dream-land/interior design/plant shop tucked inside an alley way. The place is called The Life Style Edit located at 10 Fitzroy Place in Surry Hills and it’s filled filled with beauty products, home goods, wallpaper, etc. etc. The blue cactus wallpaper is what dreams are made of. Also there’s a local cat just chillin’ on a car outside so you might be lucky enough to see him if you go.
Finally made it to Cali Press! SO good and the fact that they have coconut yogurt and superfood powders just casually on the menu (not only at Cali Press) says a lot about this country. Australia is definitely ahead of us back home when it comes to the health/wellness world. See people (Americans) it’s not that crazy or hard to do!!
Some street scenes.
Later that night was a hot (ish) yoga class at One Yoga then dinner at The Apollo. Highly recommend both places.
I also recommend walking along any/all backstreets of Potts Point, Darlinghurst, and Surry Hills. So charming all of it, even on a gloomy day.
